The Davis Wedding

What a gorgeous wedding weekend! Justin and Chandal were married on June 22 at Chateau Elan in GA. The wedding location was decided long before we knew we were moving to GA but our house ended up being a very short four miles away. Aaron's parents came to help take care of the boys while Aaron and Carrington had the honor of participating in the special day. Aaron was a groomsman and Carrington the flower girl! Carrington loved every moment of the weekend, Aaron enjoyed spending time with Justin and standing with him as he married Chandal, and I'm always happy attending a beautiful wedding and hanging out with good friends. We all thoroughly enjoyed the entire weekend!

The weekend started with the rehearsal followed by dinner in the chateau's wine cellar. I didn't make it for the rehearsal but heard that Carrington quickly took to the bride (or princess to any four year old) and did not leave her side for the rest of the night. In fact, she would not leave with Aaron to pick me up. When I arrived at dinner she was sitting on Chandal's lap, taking in her every word. Dinner had a South Carolina flare with low country boil and other local favorites served. The bride and groom were born and raised in SC, in fact, I don't think they've ever lived outside the state. After dinner, Carrington was ready to retire early and spend time with her Granny Sims. It gave Aaron and I the opportunity to catch up with friends and enjoy a kid free evening.

Carrington did a good job taking our photo
Late night fun with Rebecca.
We haven't seen each other since our Myrtle Beach days. Life has changed a lot as we are both settled with kids now. Needless to say, our conversations were much different.

Justin and Chandal were blessed with a sunny, blue sky day. The inside of the hotel came alive with the sun shining in, the amazing flowers decorating every corner of the building, the love of friends and family, and a gorgeous bride and her groom ready to say their "I dos".

Carrington has adored Justin since she was a baby. She talks to him often on the phone and gets to see him a few times a year. He is as much her buddy as Aaron's.

Guys being guys!

I think Justin was trying to get a sneak peek.

Walking down the aisle.
Carrington completely forgot to throw the rose petals but still managed to look precious and bring smiles to everyone's face.
Watching as the stunning bride made her entrance. I was too enamored by how amazing Chandal looked to take a picture of her walking down the aisle.
Taking a deep breath while taking it all in! It was so sweet to see her do that. She had everyone laughing.
Watch Carrington in the next few pictures. She wasn't sure what to do with herself during the ceremony so she went from leaning on the stage, to sitting on the floor to cheesing it up when she found me.

Happy to announce Mr. and Mrs. Justin Davis...

The flower girl from behind. Imagine her delight when she was given the flower head piece. She called it her princess crown!

The wedding party.
Carrington was posing long before the photographer was ready.

Love these two!!

There was a reception hour while pictures were taken. It gave everyone the opportunity to have a beverage, appetizers and a few laughs with friends before heading in for dinner. I had to make a quick exit to feed Hudson and put him down for the night. Aaron took over on the camera while I was gone.

First Dance.
I asked Aaron what song and he couldn't remember a very short 15 minutes later. Details are lost with men!
I was gone during the couples dance. Carrington decided to dance with the ring bearer and his sister, so poor Aaron was forced to stand on the sideline alone and take pictures.

Hydrangea flowers (one of my favorites)...

Back on the dance floor...

All that dancing led to some tired kids...

Carrington got a second wind and literally danced the night away.

A big Thank You to Chandal and Justin for making my little girls weekend. She talked about being a flower girl for months and was beyond excited about being a part of the wedding. A smile was glued to her face for three days straight. I love that she was able to experience your magical wedding and live in a fairy tale for a few days.

My favorite picture from the weekend!!!

  1. Michelle this is the sweetest post! I remembered you blogged and I was hoping you had posted a couple pictures from the ceremony, when the page opened it was like Christmas morning :) I'm so happy Carrington enjoyed being our flower girl, I knew she would be perfect and I was right! Everyone talked about how beautiful and sweet she is. It was so great to see y'all, we'll have to get together soon since we're only an hour and a half apart now! Love y'all!
