Weekend with Best Friends!

In early January we went to Raleigh to visit the Blackmon's at their new house. The de Windt's traveled down from Northern Virginia too. There were six adults and seven kids (yep, we are officially out numbered). We had intended on only spending the day at their house and driving back to Wilmington that night. After a little persuasion from our friends not to leave, we ended up spending the night! The Blackmon house has plenty of room to host our large group so sleeping arrangements worked out fine. I loved that we spent a few extra hours together since we don't see each other as often as we would like.

First attempt at a kids group photo.
(Grayson is of course messing with his brother and making him cry)
From left...Andrew (4 yrs), Carrington (4 yrs), Alex (1 on 2.1.13), Giselle (4 as of 1.21.13), Hudson (4 months), Grayson (2 on 2.13.13), and Emmy (2 on 2.16.13)
Adults doing a fine job of managing the chaos!
We put them outside to play, alot. The older kids walked to the park and later had a party on the back porch.
Our first born children.
Loving on each other since early 2009 when we first started getting together for play dates.

 Our second born children...

 My third born child.
Wendy and Andrea are due in early June with number three! Wendy is having her third girl and Andrea is having her third boy! I can't wait to have all nine kiddos together at the beach this summer!
 Emmy playing little mommy!
The kids were patiently waiting for the dads to get back with dinner. Everyone was starving at this point so we told the little ones to be on the look out.
If utensils were available they would have been banging on the table for dinner. Dinner was followed by bed time. The three older kids slept in the same room together. They were bribed with a donut party in the morning if they stayed in their bed and were quiet. It took about two hours to get them to sleep but it happened and they slept through the night until 7am.
The next morning cartons on the Ipad kept them entertained until donuts arrived  We let them have donuts even though they didn't keep to their end of the bargain. Suckers! Let's be honest though...do you think they heard "go to bed" or "donut party in the morning". I wasn't about to tell six kids they couldn't have donuts!
I know one little girl that's going to be a good big sister come June!
Attempt # 2 at a kids group shot. New day, new attitude was the hope! Lots more smiles this time.
 Donut Party!!

Happy Early 1st Birthday to Alex!
Tuckered out from a fun 24 hours with the Blackmon and de Windts!! Look forward to our next party with two new babies!
