Hudson on the move

Don't tell this little boy he is only eight months old and should be learning to crawl and pull up on things. Oh no, he mastered that months ago and is now on to pushing around toys, via his two little feet. The older two walked after they turned a year old. I think our baby will be walking well before that.

A trip to Myrtle Beach

Our first road trip since moving was rightful back to the place we love most...The BEACH!! We spent the weekend in Myrtle Beach with family and good friends, the de Windt's. Our first stop when we got into town was to see Katy looking like a beautiful princess for her junior prom. She looked just like a Christmas Barbie our grandmother gets us every year. After we saw her off to have a good time with her date and friends the rest of the family headed to Liberty for dinner and craft beer.

Friday evening we met up with the de Windts to spend the rest of the weekend in a hotel on the beach. The kids were very happy to see each other and hear that they would be having a sleepover. Carrington, Giselle, and Grayson did a great job sleeping in one room together. They went to sleep fairly easy and slept in each morning.
It was straight to the pool and beach on Saturday morning. The weather was not sunny, warm, or gorgeous. Pretty much the exact opposite at 55 degrees, cloudy and rain on the way. You think that stopped the kids from having a good time on the beach, splashing in the tide pool and even taking a dip in the ocean...not a chance!

Sunday morning started off a little slower. We waited for the temp to warm up to a balmy 60 degrees before hitting the beach. This time the obstacle was wind. Everyone got beat by the sand and toys went flying. The indoor pool provided a much warmer, more enjoyable time. While Aaron and I packed up on Sunday afternoon, the kids had fun using markers on the window.
There are few pictures of the parents and I realized as we were leaving I didn't take a picture of Hudson (reason for the random picture below, proof we was with us). We were all there, having a great time, and I can't wait to see the de Windt's again. Next time we see them their third baby will be born and along for all the fun!
The boys taking a four hour nap on the ride home. I would call that the finish to a good weekend!

Hudson - 8 months old

Lots of new things going on with Hudson since the six month old post. He started eating baby food and puffs. The first few days of feeding went well. He seemed to like apple sauce (his first food) and would open his mouth to take bites but then he cut his first two teeth right at seven months old and wanted no part of eating for about a week. He is a funny little bean at meal time. He wants puffs with his baby food and unless the food is super smooth he will not eat it. Texture is an issue. He fusses while you feed him (no clue why) and can't keep his hands away from his mouth. Which leads to a big ol' mess of smeared baby food, everywhere! See picture below for proof.

He is becoming a very happy baby. The fussing and crying has mostly gone away and changed into a playful, giggling, fun loving little baby. He naps twice a day for about two hours each and sleeps roughly 11 hours at night. The rest of his day is spent crawling around on the floor, pulling himself up on anything that's sturdy enough to hold his weight, giggling at his brother and sister, and smiling at everyone around him. He is making 'ba' and 'da' sounds but I can't confirm that a word like dada has been said. Or, maybe I don't want to confirm it because I want 'mama' to be his first word!

His crawling has changed from the inch worm to the hands and knees crawl. He gets around too well if you ask me. I can't keep him still which is exactly the same way C was and the complete opposite of G. I'm constantly taking something small out of his mouth that the siblings have thrown down on the floor and left for him to taste.
He loves playing with Carrington and generally tries to stay away from Grayson (kidding, well kinda). Grayson uses him as a pony to ride around the house and Carrington uses him as a live baby doll to carry around the house, feed, and mother. Hudson's on a stretch of getting up at 6am and wanting to go play. I think it's because he gets to play without his brother or sister bothering him. He can crawl where he wants and not get picked up, play with the toy he wants and not be in fear that a certain 2 year old is going to body slam him to get the toy back, and hear his own noises in the quiet of the early morning.
Hudson is so much fun at this age. While I love to see him grow, learn new things, and have lots of first experiences...I'm also ready to put him in a glass globe and just keep him at this sweet age!

Easter week at the new house

Our moves seem to coincide with a holiday. This time it was Easter, last couple of times, Christmas. It's fun to celebrate in a new place and try new events. So, jump right in, we did! The week was busy with a Easter party at Mommy and Me on Monday, an Egg Hunt in the neighborhood on Saturday, and celebrating Jesus on Sunday.

The pictures are out of order. First up...Neighborhood Egg Hunt.

Waiting to get the hunt started.
He wasted no time filling up his basket. During the hunt he found a purple, sparkly egg and brought it back to Carrington. Funny enough, that egg was a "prize egg" and C won a basket full of goodies. She was kind enough to return the love and share the basket with Grayson.
Hudson is always along for the ride, at least at this age.
C's turn at the egg hunt. They were split up by age so she went at a different time than Grayson.

The hunt was followed by a train ride around the parking lot. Hudson finally got his turn out of the stroller.
 On to the petting zoo.
Look, don't touch is my motto when it comes to animals.
Proud of C for following the rules.
Until, she saw the pony and wanted to take a ride on Taco.

And then she saw that she could brush one of the nasty creatures. I'm cringing as I look at the picture. Gross, gross, gross! My boy, Grayson, well he still feels the same way as mom. The further away from them, the better!
Sims Party of Five enjoy the new adventure!

Easter Sunday!!
The bunny came and left a table full of goodies.

Do you know what happens when a little boy gets a bike and can finally go riding with his oh, so cool older sister!! Needless to say, he hasn't been off the bike since he got it.
 Coloring Easter Eggs...

Daddy helped out and then managed to drop a dozen of beautifully colored eggs on the floor, RIGHT after they finished. C spent the next hour crying, asking how he could do that to her. Hah!
Hudson enjoyed his first Easter!! So much sweetness in that smile.
Dressed in their Sunday best for church.
He wore pants to church, promise.

Mommy and Me Easter Party.
M&M is a weekly group for kids that live in our neighborhood. A sweet lady, Miss Janet, teaches the kids a new letter each week, sings songs with them, and reads a story. They also get to do a craft and have a snack. It's great for both the older kids. H enjoys crawling around and watching all the action.

Bunny love!
Precious little buddies
Doing the bunny hop, hop, hop!

His daddy will be so proud when he sees him in pink, glittery bunny ears!

Happy Easter!!!

Preschool Easter Party and Egg Hunt

Carrington's last day of preschool in Wilmington was also her Easter Party and Egg Hunt. I was thankful for the party to distract us from being sad that she would not be returning to FPPK after spring break. Her first year of preschool was better than I could have ever imagined. She loved going each M-W-F, made the sweetest little friends while there, and adored her teachers. She already misses everyone at FPPK and has asked to move back to Wilmington so she can go to preschool.

On to the Easter fun and happy memories...

Coordinating yellow peep with yellow flowers on her dress.
 Easter snack time.
Lining up for the Easter Egg Hunt
The egg hunt was held indoors since the weather was chilly that day. Give kids eggs to hunt and it doesn't matter where you hide them, they have the best time finding them no matter what!
No object is too hard to reach when you really want it.

"Look at my basket full of goodies!"
 Happy Egg Hunters
A few of the girls in C's class...

Perry, C, and Tucker.
Mrs. Foster and Mrs. Murchison...we love them!
