Aaron competed in and finished his first triathlon!!! It was Olympic length which made the swim 1.5k (just short of a mile), 25 mile bike and 6.2 mile run. I am so proud of Aaron's commitment and hard work training over the summer. His accomplishment is very impressive and motivates me to maybe, one day, compete in a triathlon.

Aaron didn't compete alone, of course there were 100's of others, but two of his good buddies from Wilmington, NC joined him. Dave and Shane also kicked butt and finished their first Olympic length tri.
I joined Aaron for the triathlon. We made it a one night get-a-way. My first night away from all three kiddos.
I didn't get to see Aaron off on the swim because they started really, really early. He was moving too fast on the bike to snap a picture so his run was the only portion I was able to capture the moment.

Jenny and Melissa joined their hubbies for the night away too. I loved catching up with my girlfriends that I miss so much. We ate dinner, kid free, in a very nice establishment the night before the race. Oh man, I'm still dreaming about that yummy dinner and the fun conversation we had without any children interrupting. I hope we can get together soon for another weekend of fun!!
